[WORLD: USUETH]
Timeline: 1879 [current]
-- Very, very loose parallel to our own world.
-- The vast majority of inhabitants are magic users, secondary being Humans.
Location: Eridian Empire
-- This is where the majority of Margot’s storyline takes place.
-- It’s the biggest territory in their world, spanning a large land mass and a few smaller islands.
-- The rulers of the Empire are kind of dicks.
[INHABITANTS: WEAVERS]
-- What magic users are called within the Empire. They’re named after the Great Weaver, what is essentially their god.
-- Their entire lifestyles are based off using magic. Science is an unknown to them and would be like what their magic is to us.
-- Magic is tied directly into their life force. The more magic used, the quicker they ‘burn out,’ manifesting in what looks like a heart attack. Most Weavers don’t make it past their mid-to-late-thirties. Making it into their forties is very rare and considered a sign of good health/an easy life.
-- Due to this, the ages have shifted some. For most of their young life, Weavers go to school. At thirteen, they enter into apprenticeships or trades either taught to them by their parents or chosen mentors. By sixteen, they’re considered fully fledged adults.
-- Apprenticeships/trades are based around what that Weaver’s magic is and there is a wide range. Someone who is good with fire might work in a forge or a bakery. Someone who can track things might be a hunter or use their magic to keep track of a flock of sheep easier. The possibilities range from the fantastic to the mundane.
-- There are no outwardly physical differences to tell Weavers from Humans. The only exception is there blood; Weavers have blue, Humans have red.
[INHABITANTS: HUMANS]
-- These guys are just like us!
-- Since Humans lack the ability to use magic, they compensate with science. It ranges fairly close in parallel to our world’s in their given timeline.
-- A lot of their society has been adapted from Weaver society, though some parts are extended due to the fact that they live longer (between their sixties and seventies). Schooling is the same up until they turn thirteen, when they go on to do their apprenticeships/trades. Human children aren’t considered adults until they turn eighteen.
-- Human children are most typically born to Human parents, but on occasion, they may have a Weaver child (this is extremely rare). Weavers are also able to have Human children. While also rare, it is not as rare as the other way around. It is unknown how this happens.
-- Humans are persecuted and considered ‘unclean,’ banished from the Great Weaver’s holy light by being denied the use of magic.
-- Up until one hundred years ago, they were actively hunted before the animosity settled somewhat. It’s flared in recent years with the current war, Humans wanting the same rights as Weavers.
